TDC Mini ADV July 2024 (with video)

LMR and MotoBum hit the Cascades again for another two-night ADV, July 6-8, 2024. E-rock joined on the first day for a day ride loop with fish tacos and a brief sampling of CFMOTO motorbikes.

Here is the documentation unvideo:

The crew enjoyed fish tacos at Monroe Fish and Chips. E-rock is loving his fresh Honda Transalp 750. The CFMOTO Ibex 450 looks and feels amazing. Wow.

LMR's known secret backcountry adventure camp spot above Blewett Pass at 4,863 feet (1,482 meters) is absolutely perfect.

Favorite spots in Cle Elum and Roslyn were hit.  These places were Pioneer Coffee (Altitude) and Village Pizza.

Camping happened at Cle Elum River Campground on the second night to cool off before the 3rd day of riding in uncomfortably hot weather.

We will get out there again. We're not dead yet.

TDC Mini ADV July 2023 (with video)

LMR, E-rock, and MotoBum loaded-up and hit the Cascades for a two-night ADV, July 7-9, 2023.

Here is the documentation / experimental video:

GhostfaceKLR was seen by MotoBum for approximately five minutes. The occasion was celebrated with a bubbly water and the return of a beloved handkerchief.

Chumstick Mountain was achieved.

The TDC subset was in good form at the summit

When we were high, we rode slowly. When we were low, we hauled.

Last Minute Ryan got famous on the Internet again.

2015 Yamaha Demo Rides

Shotgun Ruthie, E-rock, and MotoBum saddled up, rode out to I-90 Motorsports in Issaquah, and rode the 2015 Yamaha models out of the demo truck. MotoBum rode the FJ-09 & Super Ténéré, E-rock rolled the Super Ténéré & FZ-09, and Shotgun raced the FZ6R & FZ-07. After the ride, notes were compared. The FZ6R sounded to be the most fun and comfy. The others? Well, they were okay.

Souvenier bracelet was also the ride pass

250 Take Over

This week something unprecedented happened. Half of the crew bought 250cc dual-sport motorcycles.

On Wednesday, Shotgun Ruthie bought a brand-new 2014 Honda CRF250L. Within hours, E-rock had a brand-new 2013 Yamaha XT250 delivered to his door.

Today, Ghostface KLR picked up a low-mile, ever so slightly beat-up, used 2008 Yamaha WR250R.

Unprecedented!

These three machines join the TDC undercurrent of Last Minute Ryan's XT250 and MotoBum's WR250R, terrorizers of the alleys and loading docks of North Seattle.

Now, the minority's knowledge of riding the kind of motorbike that is the most-fun-with-your-pants on is... the majority.

This is the 250 Take Over.

Goodbye WR and KLR2

They were good bikes. They have both been sold in the past few days (the KLR just minutes ago). I imagine it won't be long before the XT has been sold by us (again). What one bike can I get that will fill the void left by these three fine motos? I will give the first chance to a DRZ400S. We will see.
Ahh, the trusty WR is gone... what a great bike
